Donna Jean Gulliford

May 30, 1942 - December 13, 2020

On December 13, 2020, Donna Jean Gulliford (Roraback) died on Bainbridge Island, at the age of 78.

Donna was born on May 30, 1942, in Seattle. She graduated from Queen Anne High School, in 1959, and went on to attend University of Washington where she graduated in 1963 with a degree in Education and was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority.

After teaching in Seattle and Mercer Island school districts, Donna ran her family-owned company, Mercer Products, until 2005, manufacturing military aircraft spares.

Donna was married to Don M. Gulliford from 1967-1992 and welcomed children, Cindy in 1970, and Marianne in 1973. She lived on Mercer Island for almost 40 years before moving to Bainbridge Island in 2005.

We will forever remember Donna’s love of family, spectacular gardens, house full of adored dogs and cats, and unparalleled ability to create a warm and welcoming home. She was generous and kind, independent and spirited, with a feisty sense of humor. Donna was a wonderful mother figure to many, including those with two or four legs; we will miss her deeply.

Donna is survived by her children, Cindy (Gulliford) and Erich Braumoeller of Bainbridge Island; Marianne (Gulliford) and Robert Strum of Poulsbo; granddaughter, Annie Jean Strum of Poulsbo; and sister, Carol (Roraback) Kight of Marysville.

She was preceded in death by parents Howard and Marian (Hathaway) Roraback of Seattle.

No memorial service is planned at this time. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, send donations to The Kitsap Humane Society of Kitsap County (kitsap-humane.org)
