Donald Calkins, 74
Kingston resident Donald Calkins died April 16, 2006. He was 74.
He was born Nov. 17, 1931 to Riley and Verna (Martin) Calkins in The Dalles, Ore.
Calkins attended Portland Bible College.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Calkins worked as a salesman, mining prospector and as an independent minister.
He enjoyed dancing, prospecting, traveling, RVing, snowbirding, snow skiing, fishing, hunting, boating and golfing.
Calkins was a member of the Elks Lodge and belonged to New Hope Church in Portland, Ore.
He is survived by a son; three daughters; three brothers; a sister; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Kingston Christian Church at 1:30 p.m. April 25. He will be buried at Cherry Grove Memorial Park.
