Delores Mae Chevalier

Delores Mae Chevalier, beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother, died Jan. 15, 2008 in her home with her family and friends beside her. She fought a courageous fight with throat cancer and lung cancer. She was 72.

Mrs. Chevalier was born on Dec. 24, 1935 in Great Falls, Mont. to Frank and Fanny Takala.

She graduated from Sims High School in 1953. She married Kenneth Noah Chevalier on Sept. 11, 1953 and became a Navy wife.

She was an incredible person by always putting her family first, whether it was baking their favorite cookies or preparing a fabulous meal. She was the family glue. We were very lucky to have had her in our lives and she will truly be missed by all her family and friends. The family would like to say a special thanks to her longtime friends Thomas and Sally Goldader.

Mrs. Chevalier was preceded in death by brothers Robert and Russell of Montana.

Survivors include sons Douglas (Mahala Robertson-Chevalier) of Bremerton, Bruce (Linda) of Battleground, Wash. and Brian of Sumner; daughters Brenda (Ethan) Golf of Gig Harbor and Barbara (Dennis) Miller of Sumner; sister Lavern Mangold; brothers Gabriel and Larry; thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many relatives from Montana.

Services are scheduled for 1-3 p.m. Sat., Jan. 26, at First Lutheran Church in Port Orchard.
