David worked at the Port Gamble Mill until it closed and then worked as a carpenter for 25 years. David was a member of the Carpenters Union. In his spare time David enjoyed being a “jack of all trades”. He could fix and build anything he set his mind to. David was always looking to start a new project or help someone with theirs.

David’s favorite sport was baseball. He played as a youth and continued playing in recreation leagues into his 30s. David was a devoted Mariners fan. He especially loved Edgar Martinez and Dave Neihaus. Golfing and watching comedies were also a passion of David’s.

He is preceded in death by his parents. David’s memory will live on with his daughters, Alyssa and Jessica Langager; brothers Rick and Doug Langager; sisters, Lois Culton, Joyce Black, and Libby Christie; and grandsons, Jason and Odin Pound.

The highlight of David’s life was the birth of his daughters, Alyssa and Jessica. He was very proud of them. He also valued his family. David’s presence lit up the room. His sense of humor was contagious. He used his humor to cheer a person up. Underneath that humor was an intelligent, compassionate, and empathetic person. Many people called him “my best friend”.

A Memorial was held to celebrate David’s life at Vinland Lutheran Church on Saturday, May 22nd at Vinland Lutheran Church at 12:00 p.m. A catered reception followed. An online memorial can be seen at www.poulsbomortuary.com
