Charles L. Turpin, 74

Charles “Chuck Lee Turpin of Poulsbo died May 15 at his home. He was 74.

Turpin was born to JC and Ethel (Canada) Turpin in Homboldt, Tenn.

His enlistment in the Air Force took him from his Tennessee home and introduced him to Washington state, where he eventually settled.

He was co-founder of Golden Homes Inc. of Poulsbo and Sequim. He was an active member of the Sons of Norway and touched many lives during his time there.

Turpin enjoyed gardening, fishing and golfing. He cheered for the Seattle sports teams through good times and bad.

Turpin is survived by his sons Daniel (Gerrilee) Turpin of Spokane, Tad (Lupe) Turpin of Chula Vista, California, Keith (Karen) Turpin of Everett; daughter Debora (Joseph) Seideman of Spokane, sister Katie Nadene Ragsdale of Franklin, Tenn.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He is also survived by his love, Linda Gronski.

A celebration of his life will be held at the Sons of Norway from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. June 3. Memorial donations may be made to Poulsbo’s Fishline Food Bank.
