Charles Hepworth

Charles Hepworth, 87

Poulsbo resident Charles Michael Hepworth died Sept. 27, 2006 in Poulsbo. He was 87.

Hepworth was born to Charles Vern and Mabel Ann Duffy Hepworth in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 5, 1919.

He married Dee Simmons on April 12, 1946.

Hepworth graduated from Albion (Utah) High School and the Idaho State University School of Pharmacy.

He worked as a pharmacist in Preston, Idaho and Seattle before becoming a professional representative for Parke-Davis & Company in 1952. After retiring in 1984, he became a part-time pharmaceutical representative for Warner-Chilcott.

Hepworth also served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He flew 33 bombing missions over Germany, receiving the Air Medal with four oak leaf clusters and the Distinguished Flying Cross.

He was a former president of the Spokane Pharmaceutical Representatives Association and member of the Idaho and Washington state pharmaceutical associations. He was also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Hepworth is survived by his wife Dee Hepworth of Poulsbo; sons Charles (Kathy) of Kennewick, and W. Bradford (Cathi) of Bainbridge Island; daughter Tyann (Mike) Williamson of Colbert; brother John Hepworth of Twin Falls, Idaho; sister Yvonne Chatburn of Cheney; 10 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Merle Hepworth and Ralph Hepworth.

Services were held on Oct. 3.
