Arnold (Arne) B. Jacobson, 89

Arnold (Arne) B. Jacobson, of Poulsbo, died April 1. He was 89.

Jacobson was born to Fred and Anna Jacobson in Poulsbo on Dec. 4, 1918. He attended North Kitsap schools and graduated in 1938.

He was a WW II Army veteran who received numerous medals, including the Bronze Star. He enjoyed working in various fields, fishing in Alaska, cooking and carpentry. Jacobson retired from the federal government in 1983. He owned and operated two restaurants; Arne’s Café in Poulsbo and Quilcene.

Jacobson’s first wife, Frances Jensen, preceded him in death in 1969.

He is also preceded in death by his sisters Agnes Mathison and Kathryn Fullerton and second wife Ruth Anderson. He is survived by daughters Roseanne (Steve) McCullough of Oklahoma and Arnetta Cheathan of Poulsbo, stepson Mike (Mila) Anderson and stepdaughter Karen (Mike) Wolfe; grandchildren Charles Anderson, Chelynn (Joe) Broughton, Fransisco Van Rymenant, Melanie (Charles) Dishron, Michelle Anderson, Samantha Hunt, Paul (Heather) Cheatham, Brandee (Wayne) Pait, Esther Noelle Hunt, Amanda Cheatham and 19 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the First Lutheran Church at 1 p.m. April 9. Memorial contributions may be made to Martha & Mary in Poulsbo or the Alzheimer’s Association.
