An 18-year-old woman died in a house fire on Falkner Road near Poulsbo Saturday.

Poulsbo Fire Department deputy chief Jeff Russell said firefighters responded quickly around 2:30 p.m. and found the structure fully engulfed in flames. Once the fire was under control, a woman was found dead inside. Three others were able to escape and were not injured.

Crews from the Navy, North Kitsap, Bainbridge Island and Central Kitsap all responded. The Kitsap County Sheriff’s and Fire Marshal’s offices are investigating the cause of the blaze.

On Monday, the coroner’s office identified the deceased woman as 18-year-old Ariel Nieman of Port Ludlow. The cause of the death was smoke inhalation, and the manner of death was accidental.
