Village Green Foundation crosses the finish line

Wow! Fans of the Village Green certainly did it up right at the second annual Breakfast at the Green on April 25! Not only did we cross the finish line together on the 11-year capital campaign to fund the new community center’s construction (which was our goal for the day), but we actually did an extra lap or two.

With the proceeds of the Great Give rolled into those from the breakfast, the campaign finished with a flourish; you gave $46,000 to make this happen. The $20,000 community match was met and exceeded. This means that, if all of the pledges currently on the books are collected, we will have sufficient funds to retire all remaining indebtedness.

The Foundation still has much work to do — to thank donors, collect pledges, retire debt, host popular events (Save the date of August 16, 2018 for this year’s Pie in the Park; we promise that there will be plenty of pie for everyone), honor our existing commitments to adult and senior programs at the Village Green. We will continue to look for ways that we can strengthen and connect community. And, of course, there will be operating costs as we continue our work. Watch for a new on-line campaign with the initial goal of ensuring that we have adequate operating funds to meet our obligations. Also toward that end, we are launching an EverGREEN (sustaining) supporter program. Learn more about both at our web site, www.kingstonvillagegreen.org.

Please know that, as always, if you are still moved to donate to the Village Green Foundation, your gifts will be gratefully received, acknowledged, and carefully stewarded.

Together, we did it; we crossed the finish line. We’re grateful that you’ve been with us on the long race to this spectacular achievement. Without you, it couldn’t have been done. Thank you.
