Victim of fatal crash in Seabeck identified

SEABECK — The driver involved in a fatal single-vehicle crash on Sunday afternoon has been identified.

Authorities have named James David Spring, 51, of Bremerton, as the man declared deceased at the scene of a solo motor vehicle crash on NW Seabeck Holly Road at Raptor Lane in Central Kitsap.

The crash was reported at 1:18 p.m. Sunday. In a statement provided by Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Scott Wilson, investigators reported that the victim’s 1985 Toyota Supra was traveling west on NW Seabeck Holly Road. At a high rate of speed, the car crossed over the centerline and went through the eastbound lane and shoulder, and then hit a tree, Wilson said.

Responders from Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue extracted the victim from the vehicle, which was totaled, and gave first aid, but he was pronounced deceased. The coroner determined the cause of death to be multiple blunt force injuries to the head and torso, and the death was classified as accidental.
