BREMERTON – Wednesday, March 14, The right lane of westbound Burwell Street/SR 304 will be closed between Montgomery Avenue and Callow Avenue.

Additionally, the right lane of southbound Callow Avenue will be closed at Burwell Street. As a result the two lanes that turn left onto southbound Callow Avenue from westbound Burwell will be reduced to one left turning lane. The lane closures will be in place 24 hours a day, for approximately 2 weeks depending on weather.

The city’s contractor for the Highway Safety Improvements Project will be replacing the sidewalk and curb ramps at the south west corner of Callow and Burwell. The lane closure is required in order to accommodate the work and to detour pedestrians around the work site. The city anticipates that the lane closure will increase travel times, especially during the afternoon commute; drivers may want to consider alternate routes.
