The Road Report: Disruptions from June 11-15 — and beyond

Selected Kitsap County roads are under repair or construction during the week.

KITSAP COUNTY — A number of roads serviced by Kitsap County Public Works will be under repair or construction over June 11-15. Here is detailed information provided by the county:

South Kitsap:

Road maintenance crews are doing general road maintenance at several locations in South Kitsap. Flaggers will direct motorists around the work. Short delays of less than five minutes are expected in the immediate vicinity of the work.

Road maintenance work brings moderate delays of 5 to 10 minutes at these locations between June 11-15:

  • Monday – Fraser Road SE from Wilson Creek to the end
  • Tuesday – SE Forest Villa between Jackson and Villa Court
  • Wednesday – Phillips Road SE between Lund and Yorkshire
  • Thursday – SW Berry Lake between Old Clifton and the city limits

Construction continues on Bethel Burley Rd SE at the intersection with SE Burley Olalla Road. Expect delays of up to five minutes in the immediate vicinity of the work. Flaggers will direct motorists through the work area.

A portion of Colchester Drive SE, between Yukon Harbor Road SE and Miracle Mile Drive East, is closed to through traffic 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. while a new sewer conveyance system is constructed. Local residents are able to access their property during the closure but they can expect delays in doing so. A detour route is in place.

Central Kitsap:

Road maintenance crews are doing general road maintenance at several locations in Central Kitsap. Flaggers are directing motorists around the work. Short delays of less than five minutes are expected in the immediate vicinity of the work.

Construction continues on Silverdale Way NW from 600 feet south of Byron to Anderson Hill Road. Motorists should expect intermittent delays in the immediate vicinity of the work. Flaggers will direct motorists through the work area. All businesses are open during construction but motorists should expect some delay. Plan ahead or find alternate routes to minimize inconveniences.

Expect moderate delays of 5-10 minutes on Ridgetop Boulevard NW between SR 303 and Quail Run Drive as work continues on an improvement project there. Flaggers will direct motorists through the work area.

North Kitsap:

A contractor is constructing shoulder and sidewalk improvements on Suquamish Way NE. Short delays of about five minutes are expected. Portions of the roadway are gravel during this work. Work on this project continues through June.

NE White Horse Drive is closed at the intersection with South Kingston Drive on Saturday and Sunday for the LPGA event. Use alternate routes. Call the golf course for park-and-ride solutions if you plan to go.

Pioneer Way NW, between SR 3 and Twelve Trees is closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday for maintenance. Flaggers will direct motorists around the work area. Use an alternate route if possible.

Crews are full-depth patching at these locations this week:

  • Monday and Tuesday – Pioneer Way NW between SR 3 and Ansell
  • Wednesday – Norum Road NE from NE Jacobson to the end

Washington Boulevard NE has a 10,000-pound weight limit in effect. Portions of the road surface are gravel.

Moderate delays of 5-10 minutes are expected in the immediate vicinity of the work. Flaggers will assist motorists through the work area.

City of Port Orchard construction updates:

Tremont Construction: The City of Port Orchard is making improvements to the Tremont Street corridor. Visit the project page on the city’s website for the latest news about delays and detours getting to and from the Courthouse campus and other county offices.

Coming up: June 18 – July 3

Johnson Way NE and Peterson Way NE – 24/7 closures planned from June 18 to July 3 for a utility project to replace a flow meeting located in the right-of-way.

Coming up: July 1 – Sept. 30

A portion of Tracyton Boulevard NW will be temporarily closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic on or after July 1 until Sept. 30. The portion of Tracyton Boulevard NW that will be closed is from a private driveway located about 80 feet west of the existing culvert at MP 1.012, to the private driveway approximately 75 feet east of the existing culvert. The roadway will be open during the Kitsap County Fair and Stampede in August. More information will be made available as the project start date nears.

Coming up: July 2

Expect delays on NW Newberry Hill Road as Northeast Electric installs a new traffic signal at the intersection with Tieton Place NW. Work begins July 2 and is expected to take 60 days.
