Tax prep in exchange for food bank donations

KITSAP COUNTY — Liberty Tax Service is teaming up with all Kitsap County food banks to fight hunger.

During the week of March 19-25, Liberty Tax said it will offer free tax preparation to new customers who bring non-perishable food items, with an emphasis on baby food and formula, diapers, personal care products such as toilet paper, toothbrushes, toothpaste and feminine products, to Liberty Tax offices throughout Kitsap County.

“All the local food banks do a great job of helping local people in difficult times,” said Tami Kelly, who owns five locations in Port Orchard, Bremerton, Silverdale and Poulsbo.

“They are great organizations to support, and we want to do everything we can to help them help our neighbors.”

Kelly said Liberty Tax Service will provide free tax preparation for new customers who bring in 10 non-perishable items or personal products when they come to her company for professional tax preparation.
