Student ‘OK’ after being struck by car

North Kitsap High School principal asks parents to 'remind your students the importance of watching for traffic when crossing the road.' He also asked drivers to 'please be extra vigilant where students are walking.'

POULSBO — A North Kitsap High School student was struck by a vehicle on Hostmark Street after school May 16.

The student was assessed at the scene by emergency personnel, was “OK,” and released to their parent, Principal Judson Miller reported.

The incident occurred when the student crossed the street in front of a parked bus, Miller reported. Poulsbo police and Poulsbo firefighters went to the scene.

In an email to parents, Miller asked parents to “remind your students the importance of watching for traffic when crossing the road.” He also asked drivers to “please be extra vigilant where students are walking.”
