State Route 3 crash injures boy

The southbound lanes of State Route 3 one mile south of Bremerton were partially blocked for over an hour on Thursday, Jan. 15 following a two-vehicle collision.

The southbound lanes of State Route 3 one mile south of Bremerton were partially blocked for over an hour on Thursday, Jan. 15 following a two-vehicle collision.

The crash occurred at 1:24 p.m. at mile post 35.

According to a the Washington State Patrol, Meggan M. Stavick, 26, of Bremerton, drove her silver 2010 Chevrolet Colbat too closely behind a white Chevrolet van that was towing a trailer.

Stavick’s vehicle left the roadway to the right, struck a telephone pole, flipped onto its roof and struck the trailer.

Stavick was cited for negligent driving for following too closely and for driving at speeds too fast for conditions.

A five-year-old boy riding as a passenger in Stavick’s vehicle was injured. All persons involved were wearing seat belts.
