State Route 104 was blocked for more than an hour Tuesday morning following a three-car collision west of Kingston.

According to a State Patrol news release, the collision occurred at about 10 a.m. when a Dodge truck northbound on Ritter Lane failed to stop at the intersection with SR-104 and collided with an eastbound Nissan Altima. The Nissan was forced into oncoming traffic, where it collided with a Dodge van.

The driver of the Nissan, a 61-year-old Quilcene woman, was taken to Harrison Medical Center for treatment of a head injury, according to the release.

The van was driven by a 41-year-old Kingston woman and was carrying three Gordon Elementary School students to a school field trip. None of the children were injured and the van’s driver complained of soreness to her leg.

The driver of the truck, a 66-year-old Kingston man, complained of sore ribs. He was cited for failing to stop at a stop sign, according to the release.

The collision temporarily blocked both lanes of SR-104 at Ritter Lane. The scene was cleared by 11:30 a.m.
