South Kitsap Helpline accepting preorders for Mother’s Day hanging baskets

PORT ORCHARD — Once again, South Kitsap Helpline is preparing hanging petunia baskets just in time for Mother’s Day.

The nursery has a broad selection of baskets now available for sale.

The SuperTunia baskets are especially popular for Mother’s Day, said Jennifer Hardison, the non-profit organization’s executive director.

The SuperTunia colors include Bordeaux, mini-strawberry, raspberry blast, royal velvet, daybreak charm, vista silverberry and violet star charm.

She said the 12-inch hanging baskets are $32.99 each, including tax.

The baskets can be preordered now and picked up at the nursery, 1012 Mitchell Ave., Port Orchard, beginning May 13. The nursery is open from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. seven days a week through the end of June.

Regular non-preorder pricing for the hanging baskets is $35.99, plus tax.

South Kitsap Helpline’s nursery also has a growing crop of vegetable plants now available for purchase.
