Several thousand people — mostly parents and students — attended the annual South Kitsap School District Back-To-School Celebration on Saturday, Aug. 17, at the South Kitsap High School football field.

Several thousand people — mostly parents and students — attended the annual South Kitsap School District’s Back-To-School Celebration on Saturday, Aug. 17, at the South Kitsap High School football field.

Teachers from the SKSD schools manned booths and tables to talk with parents and students about the upcoming school year. Several businesses and churches were on hand passing out free school supplies and bags.

Free hot dogs and water was available for those attending the event, along with children’s games. Local dance groups provided live entertainments during the event.

A tent was set up for free school supplies for the different grades, along with table of free clothing available for families. Tents were set up for free immunizations and haircuts.

There were also informational booths setup that provided information about many of the programs within the South Kitsap School District.
