Run to Tahoma VII Celebration of Life scheduled for May 28

Six unclaimed, deceased veterans will be remembered and honored in ceremony and song at The Unforgotten, Run to Tahoma VII Celebration of Life on May 28 during Memorial Day weekend, at the Kitsap County Administration Building plaza, 619 Division St., Port Orchard.

PORT ORCHARD — Six unclaimed, deceased veterans will be remembered and honored in ceremony and song at The Unforgotten, Run to Tahoma VII Celebration of Life on May 28 during Memorial Day weekend, at the Kitsap County Administration Building plaza, 619 Division St., Port Orchard.

Participants in this year’s event includes the Duncan Creek String Quartet, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy, Suquamish Tribe, Civil Air Patrol, United Service Organization (USO), and vocalists from the Northwest Navy Band and Washington Air National Guard.

Following the ceremony, the departed veterans will be escorted to Tahoma National Cemetery near Kent. A video of last year’s Run to Tahoma and a tribute to veterans will be shown at 9:15 a.m. with the ceremony beginning at 9:45 am.
