Public ceremony to bury unclaimed remains will be held July 11

Kitsap County Coroner Jeff Wallis recently announced that the unclaimed remains of six individuals considered indigent or abandoned at the time of their death, have been claimed since asking for the public’s help last month.

The remains of four individuals still unclaimed will be buried in a public ceremony at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 11 at Old Silverdale Cemetery.

Chaplain Don Melendez of Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue will officiate the short ceremony. The county was gifted two large cemetery plots several years ago to carry out the burial.

The four persons to be buried are identified as James Zeph English (DOB: Oct. 16, 1964), Donnie L. LeBlanc (DOB: May 16, 1962), William Mahon (DOB: Oct. 11, 1947) and Billy Ray Cook, jr. (DOB: May 12, 1970).
