A portion of Highway 166 just north of the Bethel and Mile Hill Road roundabout required repairs after the roadway was hit by a minor landslide.
The city of Port Orchard reported the slide in a Feb. 2 news release, stating that it would coordinate with the state Department of Transportation for repairs. City officials linked the cause to saturated soils from recent rainfall.
Public Works staff installed a lane shift for southbound travelers over the weekend as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of drivers. Repairs were expected to be completed in a matter of days.
