Port of Kingston welcomes new executive director

Englin’s first day on the job coincides with the start of regular service for M/V Finest.

The Port of Kingston welcomed its new executive director, Greg Englin, for his first day on the job today. The day day coincided with the first day of regular ferry service for Kitsap Transit’s M/V Finest, which sails from the port of Kingston to downtown Seattle.

Englin said he was very excited to start work with the port and that he looked forward to offering his expertise to help the port navigate changes that might come as a result of the introduction of the fast ferry service.

According to Kitsap Transit spokesperson Sanjay Bhatt, the first regular sailing of the Finest saw its fair share of attendance, with about 70 passengers making the crossing. So far the 7:05 a.m. sailing, Bhatt said, was the most heavily trafficked with 131 passengers making the trip across the Puget Sound.
