Permanent speed limit change coming to SR 104 near Kingston

The 50 mph speed limit between mileposts 20.58 and 23.59 — approximately between Border Way Northeast and Lindvog Road Northeast — will be permanently reduced to 45 mph, the state Department of Transportation reported June 18.

KINGSTON — Drivers will soon see a permanently-adjusted speed limit along three miles of State Route 104 near Kingston.

The 50 mph speed limit between mileposts 20.58 and 23.59 — approximately between Border Way Northeast and Lindvog Road Northeast — will be permanently reduced to 45 mph, the state Department of Transportation reported June 18.

The changes are a result of a traffic study conducted by the Department of Transportation and prompted by safety concerns from the community, WSDOT reported. The lowered speed limit will be enforceable as soon as new signs are posted, currently scheduled for next week.

Drivers can visit WSDOT’s travel alerts and construction update webpages for current travel conditions and construction impacts.
