Kitsap County deputies used pepper balls and a taser to arrest an affiliate of the Gangster Disciples who refused to be arrested for throwing glass and punches at an officer.

A 34-year-old Everett man was in Superior Court Jan. 30 facing three charges. They include burglary (10 years in prison, $20,000 fine maximum); assault of an officer and malicious mischief (each five years, $10,000).

Court papers say Kitsap deputies responded Jan. 29 at 8:12 p.m. to NW Hite Center Road. The victim’s ex-boyfriend showed up uninvited, and she refused to let him in. He knocked out a back window to enter. She ran to her parents house nearby. The suspect would not cooperate with deputies, who broke out his car window to throw in pepper balls in an attempt to make an arrest.

The suspect threw broken glass and punches at an officer. The suspect still refused to comply even after being tased. He ended up being physically removed from the car and restrained.

The victim said a few days before the suspect was housesitting and dogsitting while she was away. He got mad when she wouldn’t answer her phone so he damaged two TV sets, three cameras, a vintage chair, a light switch and put holes in two walls. She did not report it because he is affiliated with the Gangster Disciples, and he was threatening to harm her and her parents.

A pair of unique blue Nike shoes with green soles helped lead to the arrest of a man charged with stealing from the Kitsap County sheriff’s evidence garage.

A 47-year-old Lakebay man was in Superior Court Jan. 28 charged with second-degree burglary and tampering with evidence. Bail was $156,000. He faces 11 years in prison and $25,000 in fines.

Court documents say Kitsap deputies responded Jan. 27 at 5:35 p.m. to SE Cedar Road to investigate an alarm at the evidence garage. Multiple spots in the fence had been cut, a door pried open and a backpack taken out of a truck after its window was broken. Later, some property was found not far away, along with a shipping label naming the suspect. The suspect was wearing the unique Nike shoes.

The suspect’s grandma said he had showed up at her place wearing those shoes. She hadn’t seen him since Christmas. She also identified him from a still photo taken from video surveillance footage. Deputies located the suspect in Belfair, and his girlfriend showed deputies the shoes.

A 39-year-old Bremerton man with a child who was trying to steal baby food and wipes was in Superior Court Jan. 30 charged with robbery.

Bail was $56,000. He faces 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.

Court documents say Kitsap deputies responded Jan. 29 at 8:11 p.m. to the 1400 block of NE McWilliams Road in Bremerton.

The suspect shoved a shopping cart full of merchandise into a loss prevention officer at Safeway. Store employees said the suspect was observed selecting and concealing merchandise in two backpacks. A woman loss prevention officer confronted him outside, and he rammed her with the cart. When two other store officers came to assist he ended up giving most of the merchandise back, but not all. Deputies arrived and took control. He had stolen $129 in items.

The suspect told officers he had recently lost family members and had no one to turn to during this financial hardship. While they were talking the child’s mom came up and took the baby while the suspect said he loved her.

A 39-year-old Kingston woman was in Superior Court Jan. 28 charged with residential burglary and violating a court order.

She faces 11 years in prison and $25,000 in fines.

Court papers show Poulsbo police responded Jan. 27 at 2:30 p.m. to NE Max William Loop in Poulsbo. The victim was watching a burglary at his home via a Ring camera. The suspect was his ex-wife, for which he has a protection order. Police found many picture frames hanging on the wall smashed and broken glass on the floor.

When arrested, police took their children’s passports and birth certificates she had and returned them to the ex-husband, who has custody. The victim said he was also missing a computer.

A 51-year-old Poulsbo woman was in Superior Court Jan. 28 charged with assaulting an officer and disorderly conduct.

She faces five years and 90 days in prison and $11,000 in fines.

Court records show Kitsap deputies responded Jan. 27 at 4:53 p.m. to the 3900 block of NW Randall Way in Silverdale. A woman was pounding on the hood of a vehicle and screaming. She then went to a second vehicle and did the same. When deputies told her to stop she confronted one and swore at him, daring him to arrest her. She resisted arrest, clawing at the deputy with her long fingernails. She made racial remarks and threatened to kill him and his family.

A 32-year-old Bremerton man was in Superior Court Jan. 31 charged with assaulting his dad over a remark about eating candy.

He faces 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.

Court documents say Kitsap deputies responded Jan. 30 at 7:06 p.m. to Sycamore Lane NE. The suspect was eating taffy when a tooth’s crown fell out of his mouth. His dad said he should stop eating candy and drinking Monster’s. The son said he was tired of it and punched his dad in the head, causing a 3-inch gash. The son said he was also upset about taking the trash out and doing the dishes. He later said it happened because his parents don’t pay him enough.

A 34-year-old Shelton man was in Superior Court Jan. 30 arrested on a warrant from last April for second-degree assault.

Bail was $50,000. He faces 10 years in prison and $20,000 in fines.

Court documents say the State Patrol responded Dec. 23, 2023 to Highway 3 at Eldorado Boulevard. A woman was distraught, crying and breathing heavily. She had red marks on her neck. The officer saw a man running from the bushes, but lost site of him. Other officers could not locate him.

The victim said she had lived with the man for four years, but had kicked him out and was taking him to a friend’s home in Tenino. On the way he suddenly grabbed the steering wheel so she pulled over. He tried to strangle her with the seat belt. When a vehicle pulled over to help he took off. He struggles with heroin and meth addiction and threatened to stab himself and blame it on her. The suspect finally was arrested recently.

A 40-year-old Poulsbo man was in Superior Court Jan. 31 charged with residential burglary.

He faces 10 years in prison and $20,000 in fines.

Court records show Bremerton police responded Jan. 30 at 10:02 a.m. to Bloomington Avenue. Two people were in a home that was supposed to be vacant. As officers approached one, he took off but was captured in a crawl space. The woman said her car broke down, and they wanted a warm place to stay so they broke into the home.
