Many COVID-conscious Halloween events in N. Kitsap

With Halloween coming this weekend, many COVID-19-conscious events will be occurring in North Kitsap to keep everyone safe while trying to give kids as much of an authentic trick-or-treating experience as possible.

Activities include:

Trunk-or-Treat — NK (Oct. 30)

North Kitsap Baptist Church is hosting this free family-friendly event. Games will be played with participants dressed in costumes and much candy will be eaten. The church encourages folks to interact with those who have decorated their vehicle trunks and dressed up in various themes. All of the trunk-or-treating is held outdoors. A photo booth, snacks and more can be found inside the two-story church facility. From 5-7 p.m.

Trunk-or-Treat — Kingston (Oct. 30)

Kingston Cooperative Preschool invites folks to its annual free trunk-or-treat for an afternoon of family fun including games and a photo booth. Due to COVID, masks will be required for entry. Trunks will be distanced, sanitation stations will be present and treats will be no-contact. The event will be held at Kola Kole Park in downtown Kingston from 3-5 p.m.

Car Cruise – Poulsbo (Oct. 30)

A parade of cars will start at the old Rite Aid parking lot in Poulsbo and will make its way through downtown. Costumes are encouraged for you or your vehicle. Cars will line up at 2:30 p.m., and the cruise will start at 3 p.m. There will be no stopping for trick-or-treating. No registration needed, just show up.

Halloween Party – Poulsbo (Oct. 31)

Newlife Church in Poulsbo will be hosting two Halloween parties, one at 9 a.m. and the other at 10:30 a.m. The free events will include games, a carnival and candy for kids of all ages. Come dressed up in your favorite costume.

Trunk-or-Treat – Hansville (Oct. 31)

Hansville Community Church will be hosting this family friendly and COVID-safe event with loads of car trunks full of candy. Trick-or-treaters will be able to come up to the yellow tape and yell “trunk-or-treat” at each trunk. At the end of the line of cars will be a gloved and masked candy handler who will deliver a package of candy through a contraption to each individual. The event is free and open to all kids. The event begins at 6 p.m.

Harvest Hullabaloo – Kingston (Oct. 31)

Bayside Community Church will be hosting its annual trunk-or-treat event. Kids dressed in costumes can venture through the trunk-or-treat area, grab a hot cup of cider or cocoa, enjoy free popcorn, take a break by the fire pit, and most importantly load up on candy. You can also buy a raffle ticket for a chance to throw a pie at the church youth director’s face. Proceeds go toward Bayside Youth Ministries. The event will be from 5-7 p.m.

Halloween Carnival – Kingston (Oct. 31)

Greater Kingston Kiwanis Club will be sponsoring this event at the Village Green Community Center. It includes games, treats, stories, prizes and trick-or-treating. Games include zombie cookie walk, creepy cornhole, monster memory, tic tac bonez, ghost bowling, haunted stories and more. Coffee and cider will be available. Adults must be vaccinated, and everyone must wear masks. The free event will be held from 5-7 p.m.

Halloween Hunt Drive-ThruPoulsbo (Oct. 31)

Poulsbo Chamber of Commerce will host this drive-thru trick-or-treating event that will include some of the Viking city’s favorite downtown businesses. Reusable totes will be available to the first 800 participants. The free event will be held from 1-4 p.m. with the starting point at the Poulsbo Village parking lot.

Trick or treat – Port Gamble (Oct. 31)

Bring your little ghouls and goblins for an afternoon of safe Halloween fun and trick-or-treating of the Port Gamble businesses. The event is free and held from 1-5 p.m.

Drive-In Trick or TreatHansville (Oct. 31)

Greater Hansville Community Center will host this event. Put on your costume and drive in front of the community center, wait in your car, roll down your window and treats will magically appear, delivered by costumed, masked and gloved treaters. The free event will occur from 5:30-7 p.m.

Other Halloween events in North Kitsap include Viking Bonfire and Candy for Kids (Oct. 30), Ghosts in the Graveyard (Oct. 30), Trick or Treat in Kingston (Oct. 30), Trunk or Treat at North Point Church (Oct. 31), Drive-By Trick or Treat at Martinson Cabin (Oct. 31), and Take and Go Halloween Crafts in Poulsbo (Oct. 31).
