Klahowya advances to quarterfinals with 10-9 win over Inglemoor | Lacrosse

Klahowya’s Austin Keller scored the tie-making and tie-breaking goals in the last minute of the game to propel the Eagles past the Inglemoor Vikings 10-9 in the first-round playoff, May 13 at home.

SILVERDALE – Klahowya’s Austin Keller scored the tie-making and tie-breaking goals in the last minute of the game to propel the Eagles past the Inglemoor Vikings 10-9 in the first-round playoff, May 13 at home.

Klahowya and Inglemoor played an evenly matched game. Inglemoor was up 3-2 at the end of the first quarter. Each team scored two in the second, leaving the score at the half Inglemoor 5 Eagles 4.

Inglemoor scored first after the half, pulling ahead by two, but Klahowya captain Torsten Robinson brought his A game, scoring three unanswered goals — one behind the back — to pull ahead of the Vikings by 1.

Vikings Griffin Hagstrom and Cooper Durkin retaliated with two unanswered goals, pulling ahead of the Eagles by 1 at the end of third quarter.

Hagstrom scored the first goal for the Vikings in the fourth to pull ahead by 2. The Eagles scored three unanswered goals to win the game — the first by Joe Hawley, the state’s leading assist and points-per-game player. Keller scored the equalizing goal with 1:09 left in the game, won the face off, and scored the tie-breaking goal to win the game, advancing the Eagles to the quarterfinals.
