Hood Canal Bridge will be closed intermittently tonight

The closures will take place between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. Saturday

SHINE — Heading off to the Olympic Peninsula this weekend? You might want to get going in the early evening. If not, be sure to check the status of the Hood Canal Bridge before you go.

There will be intermittent closures of the bridges beginning 10 p.m. tonight, Friday, July 6 at 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. Saturday, July 7. While the bridge is closed, crews will be in place to replace mechanical elements. It will open occasionally to ease congestion.

Washington State DOT offers updates on the bridge’s status via email and text messages. You can also check on the department’s website, wsdot.wa.gov.
