Hey Indianola, where’s Screen?

Indianola’s meetings on the White Horse development and its anticipated impact on the tiny community have been taking on the feel of a Martin Handford book. However, unlike the popular “Where’s Waldo?” series, it’s more like “Where’s Bob Screen?” He’s not hiding behind a palm tree somewhere in the South Pacific, riding a merry-go-round seahorse at the carnival, or even underneath a table at the Indianola Clubhouse. In fact, he’s nowhere to be seen.

Why? Were fairly certain that it’s not because he, like Waldo, insists on donning a red and white striped shirt and red stocking hat and frequenting locales that have an overabundance of red and white striped objects.

Rather, for some odd reason, the community hasn’t invited him to any of its meetings. Screen that is. Not Waldo. Waldo’s notorious for not returning phone calls and adamantly refuses to get a cell.

While Screen is also difficult to get in touch with, it’s not impossible to reach him.

Actually, that’s not quite true. It is impossible to reach him if one doesn’t try.

So far, this is apparently Indianola’s tactic.

Meetings about the huge development have excluded him altogether. How this will impact relations between the developer and the community is presently unknown. But, from our standpoint, it just seems to make sense that the developer be invited to a discussion about his development. Otherwise speculation and hearsay about the project and Screen’s intentions can easily go unchecked.

If anything, Indianola’s continuing sessions in such fashion will only increase the stress when Screen and the community finally do get on the same page and have a face-to-face question-and-answer period.

It might happen.

We suggest, though, when it does that everyone could wear red and white stripes, glasses and red stocking caps just to lighten the mood and keep it interesting.
