The Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound’s South Kitsap Branch has partnered with Team Shine (Sharing Hope In our Neighborhood Everyday) to host an event today, March 27.

A Health, Wellness and Safety Fair is set from 1:30-5 p.m. at Orchard Heights Elementary School, 2288 Fircrest Dr. SE, Port Orchard.

The fair will be an opportunity for our children to meet and learn healthy habits from local medical personnel, physical fitness teachers, and nutritionists, in addition classes featuring budgeting and cooking skills (tentative). More than 20 organizations will attend the fair.

At the fair, there will be a bike rodeo to teach bicycle safety and riding skills. Local bicycle groups are volunteering to support the bike rodeo.

Orchard Heights Elementary is the site of the South Kitsap Branch.

Team Shine members are Tim Maule, Cori Berg, Kristy Yeadon, Mark Yergeau, Deirdre McKeel and Rick Feeney. Along with organizing these events, Team Shine will be promoting the club in general and providing the community with ways to support their local club.
