Health, resource fair for seniors and their families on March 4

PORT ORCHARD — The fifth annual South Kitsap Health and Senior Resource Fair is set for Saturday, March 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Port Orchard United Methodist Church is sponsoring the event in partnership with Stafford Suites and Costless Senior Services.

The church location is at the corner of Sidney Avenue and Kitsap Street, two blocks up the hill from downtown Port Orchard.

Jim Craig, event chairman, said the fair provides a convenient one-stop location to valuable information and learn about services available for seniors and families that may soon be caring for elders. Health screenings will be available along with four speakers throughout the day.

Speaker topics include Red Cross emergency home preparedness; decisions on when to move; diabetes management; and elder law legal issues.

Bloodworks Northwest will be accepting blood donations in their mobile unit at the front of the church from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The fair is free. Seniors and disabled citizens are eligible to receive a free ORCA card from Kitsap Transit while supplies last.
