SILVERDALE – The Whaling Days festival will be held at Silverdale Waterfront park From July 24-26. Throughout the weekend there will be carnival rides, a beer and wine garden, local music and family oriented events.

The family-oriented events include a fireworks show, Whale of a Run, the Silverdale Rotary Duck Race, Dyes Inlet Dash Outrigger Canoe Race, a Rotary pancake breakfast and the First Federal Grand Parade.

Whaling days is a non-profit festival organization with proceeds going towards various scholarships and community projects. The festival is partnered and sponsored from businesses and individuals within the community.

“Everyone that is a part of Whaling days are all volunteers. No one gets paid for it,” said Vicky Webb, co-president of Whaling Days.

“The money that we generate goes to not only community activities, but, for example, (to) scholarships. We have also given money to the Humane Society, the CK Food Bank, Stand Up for Kids (and) Clear Creek Trail,” she said.
