Hansville Greenway hosts open house for community

It’s an open house – uh, “Open Greenway,†that is − from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 24 at the Hansville Community Center. Bring a picnic and join your friends and neighbors.
This is an opportunity to learn everything there is to know about the Hansville Greenway and Wildlife Corridor and enjoy guided walks.
Volunteers will provide information about this special place: current and future expansion and projects, maps, handouts, guided tours, volunteer opportunities, the famous Greenway DVD – and much more. Learn about the special wildlife that inhabits the Greenway, and the not-so-special invasive plant species that volunteers are constantly battling.
On all segments of the Hansville Greenway, dogs must be leashed and owners must clean up after their pets. The Greenway is a nature trail intended for quiet enjoyment for people and a protected habitat for wildlife.
The Hansville Greenway Association is seeking volunteers for a wide range of projects in the coming months. If you would like to join the group or volunteer for the regular trail maintenance program, contact Ken Shawcroft at (360) 638-2495.
Supporters of the Hansville Greenway are also invited to the association’s next meeting at 7 p.m. June 6 at the Hansville Community Center.
