Hansville events are community events

If you live in Hansville or near Hansville, and if you want something to do instead of watching TV or cutting the grass, then let me tell you how much fun you can have in the month of May in our little town.

If you live in Hansville or near Hansville, and if you want something to do instead of watching TV or cutting the grass, then let me tell you how much fun you can have in the month of May in our little town.

On May 1 and 2, you can attend the Spring Fling Gift Fair. This event features hand-made art and items not seen elsewhere. There will be jewelry, quilted placemats and quilts, wood carvings, fancy candles and many more gift items (or things just for yourself). Also on May 2, the Eglon Gift Fair will offer still more of these wonderful items.

Then on May 9, the Flotsam and Jetsam Garden Club will have its annual garden sale. Lots of plants and flowers. Always an interesting array.

Are you spring cleaning yet? Don’t forget to donate all those usable household items you no longer need to the annual Rummage Sale. Drop off date is May 16 at Hansville Community Center at Buck Lake. The actual sale will be in August, but our volunteers are up there at the center working hard to get all these dropped off items sorted and ready.

Also on May 16, the Olympic Vintage Auto Club will have cars at the center and everyone is welcome to come and be envious.

A new happening at the Hansville Community Center is the Tuesday Talk series. On May 19, Marisa DeBard, the Yoga Lady, will talk about yoga and all its benefits.

Is your computer giving you problems? Then why not go to the Neighbor’s Luncheon on May 20 for the computer class given by Art Ellison? The food is always good and Art answers computer questions with humor and lots of knowledge. But you need to make a reservation for this luncheon.

And don’t forget all the groups you could join (if you want to meet people, this is a good way). There is the Hansville Ladies Aid that sees to the Hansville Cemetery and helps those of our neighborhood that need a temporary helping hand. Also, there is the Coon Bay Sailing Club at the Driftwood Key Clubhouse, the North Kitsap Fishing Club at Driftwood Key and Flotsam and Jetsam.

I’m sure some or maybe all of these things are of interest to you, so here is where you can find out times and contacts if you have more questions: www.hansville.org, or look in the Hansville Log.

So when you see me at these events, stop and say hello, and have a Happy May. — Contact Donna Lee Anderson at welltoldtales@aol.com.
