Four Kitsap County severe weather shelters open Wednesday, Thursday

BREMERTON — Four Kitsap County severe weather shelters will be open Feb. 1-2 due to expected freezing weather conditions.

The Kitsap County Department of Emergency Management said it is activating its severe weather shelter program as long as the cold spell persists.

Hours of operation for the Port Orchard, Poulsbo and Silverdale locations will be from 6 p.m. until 7 a.m. The shelter in Kingston will open at 6:30 p.m. and close at 6:30 a.m. Guests will not be able to check into any shelter after 9 p.m.
