Deputies searching for South Kitsap fugitive

PORT ORCHARD — Kitsap County Sheriff’s deputies are on the lookout for a wanted felon who has an outstanding Department of Corrections felony warrant for failing to stay in contact with authorities.

The suspect was believed to be somewhere near Lund and Hoover avenues the morning of March 22, but law enforcement officials were unable to locate the man.

Landon A. Caracciolo, 38, ran from a white Chevrolet pickup truck after being stopped by police March 17 on Madrone Ave in the Manchester area of South Kitsap.

Deputies were attempting to stop the truck and identify the driver regarding a theft investigation when Caracciolo emerged from the driver’s side and ran away.

A K-9 team from the Bremerton Police Department responded to the scene and tracked the suspect but were unable to locate him.

South Kitsap School District officials placed Manchester Elementary into lockdown for a short period while deputies and K-9 searched for Caracciolo, who was believed to be in the area. When the search was completed, the lockdown was removed and students were released on time.

Bus transportation was limited in the area of Manchester where Caracciolo was last seen.

Anyone with information on Caracciolo’s presence is asked by the sheriff’s office to call 911.
