Cruise to GHCC’s Classic Car Show and Picnic

100 vintage rides and other cool wheels expected on July 17.

HANSVILLE — A dazzling display of 100 vintage rides and other cool wheels are expected at Buck Lake County Park for the Greater Hansville Community Center’s annual Show ’n’ Shine Car Show & Picnic In The Park, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 17.

“Last year, we had Model T’s, Model A’s, great cars from the ’50s and ’60s, custom cars, Lead Sleds and Hot Rods,” said event organizer Bob Bennion, a vintage car collector.

“We even had The Volkswagen Car Club from Kingston show up with some early Beetles.

“There will be all sorts of unique cars, representing every decade, right up to today.”

Vehicle registration begins at 9 a.m. and includes a hot breakfast. Commemorative dash plaques will be awarded to the first 100 participants.

Breakfast will be available until 10:30 a.m.; burgers and hot dogs will be available from noon to 1:30 p.m., or participants can pack a lunch.

Music on the lawn will be provided by  The Hometown Band, with dancing by the Boot Scootin’ Grannies, from 12:45-1:15 p.m. at the community center.

Kingston Boy Scout Troop 555 will provide games for children from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

50/50 raffle tickets will be available for purchase.
