County resumes normal operating hours with restrictions at Olympic View and Hansville waste facilities

The county is moving forward with a plan to allow restricted access to its waste facilities as the coronavirus pandemic continues.

The Olympic View Transfer Station in Bremerton and the Hansville Recycling and Garbage Facility will operate under regular hours, but keep safeguards in place to protect those accessing the facilities.

The Silverdale and Ollala facilities will remain closed as they are not able to accept credit or debit cards and do not have windows to protect staff.

Olympic View is open daily 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Customers may only bring essential waste — such as items that contain food, have an odor or could attract animals — and must still observe social distancing practices. For a full list of restrictions, click here.

The Hansville Recycling and Garbage Center is open Wednesday through Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and has many of the same restrictions as Olympic View.

The county asks that residents only bring household garbage and to visit only if absolutely necessary.
