Chief Kitsap Academy distributes laptops to students for remote learning

School issues laptops to students as schools are shuttered during outbreak of COVID-19

On Wednesday, Chief Kitsap Academy teachers and staff began issuing nearly 90 laptops to students in efforts to provide remote learning options during the COVID-19 outbreak.

“Teachers and staff will have a number of ways to interact with students,” Principal Lucy Dafoe said. “We will be using Google Classroom, Google Hangout, packets, projects, books, etc. Teachers will create online office hours where they will be available to meet with classes or have a time to answer questions and interact with students.”

On Thursday, staff at Chief Kitsap Academy handed out the remaining laptops to students, according to the Suquamish Tribe.
