PORT ORCHARD — A new car wash and espresso stand now taking shape across the street from Fred Meyer on Southeast Sedgwick Road is expected to open in August.

The 4,577 square-foot SudStar Car Wash and Cafe Elite espresso stand, at 1901 SE Sedgwick Rd. (next door to Les Schwab Tires), features a high-efficiency water reclaim system, Helix Design Group’s Erik Prestegaard said in a news release.

Prestegaard said the building was designed to be highly visible to commuters on Sedgwick heading either to Highway 16 or the Southworth ferry terminal.

The project team includes B&B Car Wash, the owner/developer; South Sound Geotechnical Consulting, geotechnical engineer; David Evans and Associates, civil engineer; Douglas H. Tuma Landscape Architect, landscape architect; and PCS Structural Solutions, structural engineer.
