Carwash, espresso cafe now under construction to open in August

The new business is across Sedgwick from Fred Meyer.

PORT ORCHARD — A new car wash and espresso stand now taking shape across the street from Fred Meyer on Southeast Sedgwick Road is expected to open in August.

The 4,577 square-foot SudStar Car Wash and Cafe Elite espresso stand, at 1901 SE Sedgwick Rd. (next door to Les Schwab Tires), features a high-efficiency water reclaim system, Helix Design Group’s Erik Prestegaard said in a news release.

Prestegaard said the building was designed to be highly visible to commuters on Sedgwick heading either to Highway 16 or the Southworth ferry terminal.

Helix Design Group is the project architect and is leading the master planning and design of the car wash. The project team includes B&B Car Wash, the owner/developer; South Sound Geotechnical Consulting, geotechnical engineer; David Evans and Associates, civil engineer; Douglas H. Tuma Landscape Architect, landscape architect; and PCS Structural Solutions, structural engineer.
