Assaults, burglaries, failure to register among cases filed in District Court

The following cases were filed in Kitsap County District Court:

Failure to register as a sex offender: A 31-year-old man currently residing in Bremerton was charged with felony failure to register as a sex offender.

Burglary: A 41-year-old Kingston man was arrested on Oct. 24 and charged with second-degree burglary.

Driving under the influence, with special allegation of refusal to take a BAC test: A Bremerton man was charged in District Court with felony DUI, and when he finally assented to a blood alcohol content test, he blew a .15 — nearly twice the legal limit.

Controlling a vehicle while driving under the influence: A 49-year-old Silverdale woman was charged on Oct. 24 with DUI, and earned a special allegation for testing higher than .15 BAC, almost double the legal limit of .08.

Violation of a court protection order/special allegation of domestic violence: A 24-year-old Bremerton man was arrested on Oct. 17 and charged in a gross misdemeanor criminal complaint for violation of a court-imposed protection order, as well as a special allegation of domestic violence.

Possession of a controlled substance: A 36-year-old Bremerton man was arrested on Oct. 17 and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance — in this case, heroin.

Possession of a controlled substance: A 20-year-old transient was arrested in Bremerton on Oct. 23 and charged with felony possession of oxycodone without a valid prescription.

Burglary: A 37-year-old Bremerton man was charged with felony second-degree burglary.

Third-degree assault: A 27-year-old Bremerton man was arrested on Oct. 27 and charged with third-degree assault for attacking a health-care worker while in the performance of her duties.

Second-degree assault: A 24-year-old Port Orchard man was arrested on Sept. 16 and charged with second-degree assault in the strangulation of his partner, with a special allegation of domestic violence.

Third-degree theft, making a false statement to a law enforcement officer: A 27-year-old Bremerton man was arrested way back on June 5, and charged with third-degree theft for shoplifting from the Safeway store on McWilliams, and then additionally a charge of making a false statement to law enforcement officers.

Possession of a controlled substance: A 38-year-old Bremerton man was arrested on Oct. 22 and charged with possession of methamphetamine.

DUI and exceeding BAC limit: A 24-year-old Kingston man was arrested with DUI for driving while under the influence, then earned an additional charge when he tested higher than .15 when he took a BAC test some time later.

Multiple automobile-related charges: A 24-year-old Bremerton man was arrested and charged with a laundry list of violations, starting with DUI. The hit parade continued when the man refused to take a BAC test. This was followed with a reckless endangerment charge, driving with license revoked and having a passenger under the age of 16 in the car.

Third-degree child molestation: A 43-year-old Port Orchard man was charged with one count of child molestation, with an additional special allegation of domestic violence, since the 15-year-old victim was a member of the suspect’s household. Multiple abuses are alleged to have taken place between Feb. 19 and Oct. 20 of this year.

Possession of a controlled substance: A 27-year-old Bremerton man was charged with one count of possession of methamphetamine.

DUI/reckless endangerment: A 20-year-old Bremerton man was arrested and charged with DUI, with an additional allegation of reckless endangerment and for testing higher than .15 when he took a blood alcohol test. He was arrested on Oct. 23.

Violation of a court order (gross misdemeanor): A 28-year-old Port Orchard woman was charged with violation of a court-issued restraining order, with a special allegation of domestic violence.

Violation of protection order (domestic violence allegation): A 22-year-old transient, no hometown given, was charged with one count of gross demeanor violation of a court-ordered protection order, a special allegation of domestic violence, and a second count of knowingly violating a foreign-issued court protection order.

Driving under the influence: A 44-year-old Kingston man was arrested and charge with driving while under the influence with his BAC level exceeding the legal limit of .08.
