Plenty of parking is available at the new Stottlemeyer trailhead.

The new Stottlemeyer trailhead at Port Gamble Forest Heritage Park recently opened, offering an array of hiking trails and nature paths.

“We are excited to provide this new park access amenity to our visitors,” Kitsap County parks director Alex Wisniewski said. “We look forward to welcoming visitors to start their outdoor adventures from this new trailhead.”

Ample parking is provided at the new trailhead, spanning 1.2 acres and providing 25 standard stalls, American Disabilities Act- accessible spaces, and five pull-through stalls, a county news release states.

“Equestrians will appreciate the five pull-through stalls designed to accommodate trailers, making bringing horses to the park easier than ever,” the release says.
