5,000 gallons of sewage spill into Appletree Cove

No-contact advisory issued.

The Kitsap Public Health District has issued a no-contact advisory for Kingston’s Appletree Cove due to a sewage spill.

Approximately 5,000 gallons of sewage spilled into the cove on Nov. 13 as a result of a failed force main relief valve. The no-contact advisory is expected to continue through Saturday, Nov. 17.

The public is advised to avoid contact with water in Appletree Cove from the Kingston Marina to Arness Park. The health district advises against swimming, wading or any activities in which the affected water may come into contact with the mouth, nose or eyes.
