KINGSTON – Three people were injured in a four-car collision at 2:16 p.m. Feb. 10 at Hansville Road and State Highway 104.

John J. Gilmour, 87, of Port Ludlow, who was not injured, was cited for driving too fast for conditions, Washington State Patrol reported.

Transported to Harrison Medical Center were Anissa M. Zichella, 45, of Port Angeles; Christina R. Sharkey, 57, of Bremerton; and Kevin N. Auld, 11, a passenger in Zichella’s car, of Port Angeles. Another driver, Thomas H. Nicol, 62, of Poulsbo was not injured.

According to Washington State Patrol, Zichella, Sharkey and Nicol’s vehicles were stopped behind other vehicles for a red light in the westbound lane of 104 at Hansville Road. Gilmour, “blinded by sunlight, lowered [his] sun visor, observed stopped traffic, [and] was not able to stop,” state patrol reported. Gilmour’s 1995 Toyota RAV4 struck Zichella’s 1996 Chevrolet Metro two-door, which struck Sharkey’s 2008 Chevrolet Blazer, which struck Nicol’s 2006 Ford F150 pickup.

All vehicles but Nicol’s were impounded by Kitsap Towing.
