The Kitsap Public Health District has issued a no-contact advisory through May 7 for portions of Liberty Bay and the Keyport shoreline due to a 15,000-gallon sewage spill.
The affected area is from Lions Park in Poulsbo to the end of Sandy Hook Road and from the end of Nordic Cove Lane to the end of Templar Lane, per KPHD. Warning signs will be posted at public access points. Additionally, the public is advised not to harvest shellfish in the affected area through May 21.
During a no-contact advisory, avoid contact with water in the affected area. KPHD recommends against swimming, wading, or types of water recreation that could cause water to be swallowed or get into the mouth, nose, or eyes. Avoid direct skin contact with the water if possible and immediately wash with soap and clean water if you have exposure to the water.
