SERGEANT JOHN M. BRUCE, USMC

HOMETOWN: Kingston, Washington

BRANCH: United States Marine Corps

HIGHEST RANK OR GRADE ATTAINED: Sergeant E-5

SIGNIFICANT DUTY STATIONS OR DEPLOYMENTS DURING THE VIETNAM WAR: Two tours in Vietnam with the Third Marine Division 12th Marine Artillery Regiment. Also served as a scout/observer in 46 major operations in Vietnam.

POST-WAR CAREER: Worked for OreWHEAT Foods doing marketing surveying and working in their South Seattle Storage Facilities. Later worked in commercial halibut and sablefish fisheries in the North Pacific. Became a contributing parter in a fishing business for five years before leaving to fish with the Quest F/V for 10 years. Eventually became the director for a small fishing company, Jubilee Fisheries.
