Celebrate all things blackberry at this Bremerton festival!

Get your blackberry fix on Sept. 2 to 4 on the Bremerton boardwalk

Blackberry season is here and that means it’s almost time for the Bremerton Rotary Blackberry Festival! The festival is celebrating it’s 33rd year this September, making it the longest-running festival in the City of Bremerton.

Originally created as a community fundraising event hosted by the Bremerton Rotary foundation, 33 years later all the proceeds from this now very popular Bremerton festival still support the local community.

“The Bremerton Rotary Foundation uses a portion of the money raised at the festival to purchase dictionaries for every third grader in the Bremerton School District,” says Sunny Saunders of Sunny Jack Events. “It also helps to fund over $20,000 in annual scholarships and has funded various community focused improvements to Bremerton as well.”

This years Blackberry Festival runs from Sept. 2 to 4 on the Bremerton Boardwalk, open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the holiday Monday. Guests can expect 15+ blackberry themed food and beverage creations including blackberry doughnuts, frybread, crepes, Barbecue from Smokin’ Robinsons Cafe, ice cream, snow cones, gelato, sundaes, olive-oil dip for spiral-cut potato chips, and more!

Collectable Bremerton Rotary Blackberry Festival wine

Bring home a piece of the festival and support local Bremerton schools by purchasing a bottle (or two!) of the annual, collectable blackberry desert or table wine by Pasek Cellars from the Rotary booth.

“This year guests can also purchase a special blackberry jam, and all proceeds from the wine and jam sales go directly to supporting local Bremerton Schools,” Saunders says. “Guests can sample the wine at the beer and wine gardens, sponsored by Cloverleaf Sports Bar & Grill.”

Live entertainment and attractions

Guests can look forward to live music throughout the event, including performances from Two Story Zori out of Seattle and many local musicians from around the area. There will also be a special kids activity area, On Your Berry Way, featuring children’s performers, crafts and activities.

Getting there

“This is a popular event and guests should plan accordingly. There are a variety of parking options and foot ferries available,” Saunders says. “The Bremerton Boardwalk is just steps from the Seattle ferry as well, making it a great day trip for our Seattle neighbors.”
