Annual ‘Hooked on Fish’ Derby April 29

POULSBO — The Poulsbo Noon Lions Club hosts its annual “Hooked on Fish Derby,” for children 11 and younger, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 29 at the horticulture pond behind Poulsbo Middle School.

The event is free and bait will be provided. Fishing poles and gear are available on a first-come basis. Those with their own poles are encouraged to bring them.

The pond has been stocked with about 500 rainbow trout. Parents are encouraged to help, but not fish. Complimentary fish cleaning available.

Lions Club member June Cotner said of the derby, “This is a fun-filled family activity that can help children develop a lifelong passion for fishing.”

Every day is Earth Day for the Noon Lions

The Poulsbo Noon Lions work to keep our community clean by picking up litter quarterly along the Highway 305 and Highway 3 interchange as part of the Adopt-A-Highway Program.

In addition, the Noon Lions have devoted many hours to building the Fish Park boardwalk in Poulsbo.
