Supports Appleton for re-election

I have known Sherry Appleton as a friend and as my state representative for many years. I have seen her interact with constituents both out and about, and at her legislative office. In those instances, I have never once seen her ask what the person’s party or political affiliation was. Sherry talks with the person to draw out the nature of the need or problem.

Then Sherry’s many years of experience kicks in and she tells the person who in government may be able to help, and starts trying to resolve the problem. Most times, this involves calling state employees who have knowledge in the problem area and can help. Sherry always follows through.

When you ask Sherry a question about an issue before the Legislature, you get a straight-up answer and it includes significant history that affects the issue. Even if Sherry has a position on the issue, she engages you on why you agree or disagree, and if she hears a better answer than her own she is open to changing her mind.

With a knowledgeable, experienced and effective legislator like Sherry, why would I consider supporting Sherry’s inexperienced opponent?
