I write this letter to ask for your yes vote on the upcoming North Kitsap Educational Program and Operations Levy, and the Facilities and Technology Capital Projects Levy.

On Feb. 13, you will be asked to continue the existing levy that supports essential classroom programs, utilities, daily maintenance and transportation.

The bond levy is to build new facilities and maintain older structures. Nothing sets a tone like the continued support of our children and those who teach them.

When I left the school board and went overseas to teach, the North Kitsap School District was on an upswing. New buildings were being built, finances weren’t mystifying, and the first question seemed, “What is best for the kiddos?” I want that district back. The only way to get there is to start by supporting the new superintendent, Dr. Laurynn Evans. That is what these levies do.

Please join me in supporting the most basic of needs for our children and their teachers.
