Letters to the Editor

As a senior and cheerleader at North Kitsap I’m a outraged by the remarks made about the stadium issue. When Kingston High School opened, everyone knew they would have no lights or scoreboard. Yes that is a bummer for the sports teams there, but North is being unfairly blamed for this. NKHS has nothing to do with the budgeting, that is a district problem. And the fact that Kingston supporters are demanding the district to pay for lights is appalling. We already are in debt and have little money to spend on education, let alone athletics.

Her stadium is hers

Roy asked the Vikings to live one day in the Bucs’ shoes, but try living one day in ours when you have to fight for the right to keep your own stadium yours. It might formally be called North Kitsap Stadium, but it will always be Viking Stadium to us and nothing can change that.
